Just got e-mail from dealer about early buy on pellets. Before May 30th, Turmans will go for $229 a ton, with delivery available-no price quoted for delivery. They did state they expect prices after May 30th to be higher than this past year. Debating between 5 or 6 tons. Used 6 tons this past year but just had new insulation put in attic and basement in March. New insulation should help lower my tons used. Storage is no issue. Can't wait!

I like to keep an extra couple of tons on hand as a buffer. I normally burn 3 1/2 tons in a season but I fill my stash up to 6 tons in the spring.

Hell of a Good price for Turmans..

Got them last summer at $229 a ton also. I am suprised because I have seen people saying Turmans cost upwards of $300 a ton. I'll buy at $229, but not $300!

Dealer can;t be making much on the deal...doubt if his cost we're less than 200.00 ton for Turmans but maybe not...
geez.. most of the year Turmans are North of 275.00 ton..
I just did early buy for Energex Premiums. 250.00 ton so great ass price at 229.00!!!!!!!

I wish I could find Turman's for that price around here!

Is that a Quad 1200 you're burning? Looks just like mine, same corner setup. Got mine last summer and after some new insulation, am pretty happy so far. Before I realized we had basically zero insulation, it was a little rough. Used to burn a Fisher Papa Bear Woodstove that overheated the house. Got pellet stove for ease of use and better temp regulation.

Yes it is, the hearth is a DIY raised unit. My house is cinder block with ferring strips and plaster walls, only insulation is in the attic.

Big Box prices!!, damn!!

Just had 5 tons delivered. I had e-mailed my dealer last week to ask about any delivery specials to go along with the early buy. E-mailed back a price of $30 to deliver. (I live within 2 miles of dealer!) They then called me this past Thursday and offered free delivery if I would allow them to deliver today, Saturday. They were running out of room to store them. So with the offer of free delivery of 5 tons, I said bring em! I have room to store them, so it was an easy decision. It's a great feeling having my pellets ready to go for next year!

I just ordered 5 tons at $295/ ton and $55 for delivery. I'm in Mass.
Wow, here in south central PA, got my Turmans for $229 a ton. $65 a ton less than you. My dealer did say they were one of Turmans biggest suppliers on the East coast, so they probably are given a better price for buying volume from the factory. Also, they are out of Virginia, so I assume transport costs to Maine are much higher than to PA.

Location, location, location. I'm in Massachusetts... Their made in Pennsylvania... Diesels $4.30 a gallon.

Most good pellets around here at $250-$325/ ton... Okies r $365 and up.

Sorry, I read your post when you said Mass. but I wrote Maine. You are right, location, location, location. Not sure I would pay $300 a ton for any pellet! The Turmans go up to $249-$259 a ton in prime winter season. Took a PONY baseball team to Swansee, Mass several years ago. Great little town, with a tremendous ball field. We were told then that Greg Gagne was from around the area and gave the city money for that field. One of the nicest fields I have ever seen!

I was thinking of calling F&F for Turman's or Hamers. That or Pellets Direct for Barefoots at $289, or Okie Platinum's for $299 at Royal Fireside.

I bought Okie DF's at Royal Fireside.

To my knowledge, there is nothing priced like that around here for a premium pellet. I recently paid $259/ton for Ambiance. Cleanfire Douglass fir is a whopping $375!

I would never pay that much for "Magic Pellets"...
Energex and HD''s Stove Chows keep us plenty warm...229.00 & 250.00 ton.
