Leaf blower Connection Solved.

Ok... I have the cheapo Homelite electric blower/Vac from HD..
Model# UT42120 $42.00

used the supplied connection which hooked up perfect to my exhaust.
[ My Outside liner Pipe is 5" ... The Homelite piece slipped perfectly over the 4" inside pipe...
Actually had to tug a bit to get it off
The base of the blower is Smack Dab Right up against the siding had me worried.
.. Any wider blower body and I wouldn't have been able to do a straight connect...

Yes. The third pic that you added to the original post includes the venting termination. If I were to use a leaf blower on that setup and connecting to the venting in the same location you are, I would disconnect the vacuum hose, plug the venting termination and run the leaf blower to clean out the residual ash in the stove and vent piping from the stove to the clean out. Then I would shut the stove and unplug the piping termination and run the leaf blower again. Reconnect the vacuum hose and plug the clean out tee and you are done.

have same stove as you.. only things I do different is:
I don't disconnect the hose.. I just open up the stove door and put big rag to keep door open.
Eliminates any vacuum problem.
I also shove a big rag up into the outside pipe [just so it is past the horizontal entry back thru the wall.
this way I know all my suction is from the stove.[I jam it pretty tight so doesn't get sucked up]
note: I do this AFTER i sucked crud from the outside exhaust..
I assume results are the same..
 
Thats exactly what I do. I sucked the rag up once made a really nasty sound and ground everything to a halt. I thought it was tight too. I also blow up the vent exhaust I put the leaf blower adapter past the inlet into the house. Lots of crud comes out the top when I do this even if I have ran a brush through it.

Just curious here..
do u empty[or remove] the ash pan before using the blower exhausting?

I usually do all my cleaning before I do anything with a leaf blower. As far as doing blowing my blower has a nozzle that gets me past the "T" so it would not go back into the stove.

so your not exhausting anything from the stove at all and just using the blower for the outside pipe?

I hook up the sucking side of the leaf blower like you did. I also then take the blowing side and insert the attachment 5 or 6 inches up just past the "T" and then let it blow that cleans out the vertical section of the outside pipe a little bit.
