Will they go the extra mile and stand behind their product after the sale? Do they know their craft? Anybody had a Kedel installed by them and would you recommend them?

This should be moved to the pellet section of the forum ... start a conversation with one of the moderators;)

Importing company of Kedel (Interphase Energy) and Revision Heat have shared managing partners... I'd say Revision Heat is more committed to Kedel than any installer. Revision is very committed to efficienct alternative energy produccts.

I've been incredibly happy with my Kedel. I'd be happy to answer any questions.

And there is nothing wrong with asking about a pellet boiler in the wood boiler section since there is no pellet boiler section! You'll see most pellet boiler questions are on both sections of this forum.

If it's a boiler it belongs here. They are a completely different class of product than a pellet stove.
Ain't that the truth!

Totally different when water is on the other side of the steel!

I'm sorry to hear about your bad luck. Where is the boiler leaking.... A theaded connection, weld, crack, or piping joint?

EDIT: Post deleted per the request of the OP. Hopefully he comes back and explains this whole thing in better detail once it is resolved.

went with Kedel because they threatened to give our rebate to someone else if we delayed and kept asking questions.

Can you explain this one further? I'm not understanding...

Revision was great with my Tarm Purchase. I had a few little hickups early on that they and Tarm BioMass helped me work though.

I would most definitely do business with both of them again.

So... statement got withdrawn. Was it a simple fix (plumbing leak vs "boiler leak"), or is this advise from a paranoid lawyer? We are all here to help and are curious to what happened?

I believe his request was with the best of intentions... I'm in hopes the issue is less of an issue than the original post made it out to be. IE hopefully leaking PLUMBING vs a "broken boiler". Hopefully Pat clarifies the issue after its fully resolved and persons involved are allowed to rectify suspected issue on their own.

What the hell was that all about?

Interesting tread is the least I can say, but difficult to follow.
I hope the customer was taken care of!

He private messaged me and said something along the lines that he might have jumped the gun. It sounds like PIPING work was leaking, not the boiler itself albeit it might have been the piping connection AT the boiler. I asked that he follow up with this to explain since he did not want the young fellow that installed it to get fired. I think it was so early in the game they were not given the opportunity to correct the issue yet? We will see if he clear the air.

When the original rebate was announced there were only going to be 50-100 rebates allowed by consumers, I don't remember which. Since MESys and probably Interphase/ReVision lobbied for the rebate they had prior knowledge of it and those "slots" were filled IMMEDIATELY upon release of the rebate program. It appears as though ReVision thought the rebate "slot" was theirs, and not the consumers (Pat's) ~ and strong armed Pat into making a decision before he wanted to.

Well if that's true, it wasn't a very nice thing to do.

Well, since Mr. Walsh hasn't replied in over a month, here is what he PM'd me about this whole debacle. I think he was more upset and might have exaggerated a bit. Sounds like the whole thing was a piping installation issue:

No I am afraid the kid who has been doing the work is going to get fired. I don't want him to lose his job because I gave to much info in my post. Meaning I had "loose lips" and "he got thrown under the bus" to quote generation X's words.

And as far as "Giving away rebates"... no one knows when Efficiency Maine is going to run out of money for this series of rebates. You can not secure a rebate like the last series which were gone in 40 hours or so, and no they were not pre filled... they were emailed to folks that signed up and expressed interest to Efficiency Maine booths at fairs, etc. A co worker got the email and had reserved a boiler but gave it up since he wasn't in the position to do it just then. He had not spoken to any contractors, ony Efficiency Maine.

So, since you can not secure one, the rebates COULD run out in the middle of your installation. If you are counting on that money and it's gone while you're in the middle of the installation process... your SOL. The paperwork only gets sent in after the system is fully operational and signed off on.

I'm pushing my mother to get her act together since it might be gone by the time she finishes dragging her feet. I think this was the urgency that might have been pushed upon Mr. Walsh but perhaps there was more to the story than this.... I'm thinking it's a big misunderstanding and since Mr. Walsh has not commented back yet I'm hoping his system is working now... you'd think a very upset person would still keep reporting an issue, but a happy one usually meanders away.
