Got My Fiskars (times 2 ???)

Got home from work to find an Amazon box, about the right size for my new Fiskars X27. Ordered it from them, since all the local shops have gone to the black on black (newer?) version of this axe, and I like the orange ended handle. Anyway, picked it up to go inside, when the weight hit me. I thought they called this thing an 'axe'? Felt like they shipped me a ten pound maul, instead. Opened the box, and there lay two shiny X27's !! Immediately checked my account, and sure enough, they'd only charged me for the one. I gotta tell ya, there was a moment or two of indecision, but the better nature won out, and I'm sending it back.

Now, if they'd mistakenly sent me a nice kinetic splitter? Well ...
I guess we'll cross that bridge, when we come to it.

Guess I've got an extra, of an axe that's never supposed to break, and that has a lifetime warranty if it ever does. Maybe I'll donate it to my buddy who's given me all the wood. I'll have to see if he'll ever actually use it, though. If not, can't hurt to have a spare, I guess.

I'm sad (sorry, SD) to report that the aforementioned friend has already gotten the extra. He has after all not only supplied me with more than a years supply of firewood (the Scots Pine, in my signature), cut, split, and delivered. But, just last weekend, he donated three decent sized white oaks to the cause. With that, one large catalpa, a couple of small mulberries, and a number of medium to largish elms that I have yet to drop in my immediate neighbors' yards, I'm sitting in a much better position than I thought I'd be. But he was there, at the start, with that but-load of pine. He was most impressed with the axe, and very appreciative of the gift. Feel good day, all the way around, for yours truly.
