Alright I've narrowed it down to four units. They are the Lennox Montecito, Napoleon 3000, heartstone Montgomery , or the FXP Elite 33. Please give me y'all's honest opinion on the best built unit and why. Thanks.

I would look through the stove reviews to get a feel for which one you like best.

Have you gotten any quotes yet? That may narrow down the list pretty quickly. Make sure the chimney is included in it as some units are very restrictive in the type of chimney that can be used.

The Montgomery has a relatively small firebox when getting the andirons. For the FPX: Do you mean the Elite 36? As far as I know, the Elite 33 is an insert which is supposed to go into a masonry fireplace.

The fpx elite 36 is $5125. The Napoleon 3000 is $6200 store price but i can get it thru Direct Buy for around $5000 with the accessories i want. The Lennox Montecito estate is $6680. Does anyone on this site have the Napoleon that can tell me how it performs?

Scotty Overkill has one. Haven't seen him posting in quite a while though. He has a pretty detailed thread of his entire build here. You could try pm'ing him.

Edit: It won't let me post the board members name. Maybe he is banned. Sorry

Thanks for the threads, kingquad and begreen. They are both great threads. I think we are more than likely going to go with the Napoleon. When I start on it I will post pics like scot did in the thread he started. Thanks guys I really appreciate.
