I am purchasing a a blaze king ultra. 8 inch stove pipe and its going threw cement wall out the house and up the side of it.

What type of brand stove pipe is everyone using and as far as construction and materials what do you prefer? Did you guys use a 90 degree elbow or 2 45s like blazeking recommends. Are you using double wall on the inside? Triple on the outside?

Also what prices did you pay.

My ceiling are about 9 ft 4 inches tall. I can post pictures of the room if it will help.

Thankyou for your help.

Blaze King recommends double-wall connector pipe to keep the flue gases hotter. Outside, double wall class A is a nicer pipe, IMO,

] Ok well i have done some more homework. Black double wall on the inside, and double SS on the outside. Less then 20 feet outside pipe probably 18 gonna do some measurements to be exact, (2)45 elbow or (1)90 not sure yet on the inside. . Called some places and getting prices, the installer wants 700 dollars more for the pipe then me going and buying it on my own. 1200 for the install which is not bad, hoping to get it around 800. Room is being finished currently and tile floors are being put down. I habe 2 spots for it to go what would you guys do? One is in the corner and the other is kinda in the middle of the room. The first 2 pictures are together, and the last 2 are together. I didnt mark a hole for the one install picture but the pipe is gong to be going between the ac and window higher up. Not sure bu on either of the installas i might need to put a 45 elbow in.

Try to stick with 45's if possible.

Either of those locations would be just fine, it's really personal preference. Does that masonry chimney go all the way down to basement by chance? It would be cool if you could just re-line it and go that route! I really doubt you will see any noticable difference between a 90 and 45's, considering you got about 23' from the stovetop. If's double wall you should be fine. Do you know what brand of pipe is being quoted?

No it doesn't i wish it did that would be sweet! The pipe is excel and i have no idea who is good and if one is worth more money then the other. What are my clearances to combustible(wall, ceiling, ac, window) from the double wall pipe inside and out 2 inches? Also but not sure i might have to put another elbow putside but not sure yet. Is this a bad idea? Not sure about my in and outs yet.

Clearance to double wall connector is 6" usually check manuals and clearance to class a is typically 2" but again you need to check the specs of the pipe being used. as far as the elbow outside i would try to avoid it. They will work with elbows in the chimney but it is much better if you can do a straight run plus the class a elbows are usually pretty pricey.

you also may not be able to turn the tee on an angle like that you would have to check the specs of the specific chimney being used.

Thanks for the advice. Anyone recommend a pipe brand? Price?

I've been thrilled with my duratech class A. Brand name used to be Simpson but now is M&G per BG's post.

I liked it so much that I bought it again for my shop stove installation. Same exact stuff.

Have any experience of the SS vs galvinized? I know SS is pretty but the galvinized. I would paint the bottom part to match my house and the top part to match of roof.

It's not a long lived as SS but that should be fine. Use a good paint that bonds to galvanized or a galvanized primer first.

You need to wipe the pipe down with vinegar before painting it. It neutralizes the oils and etches the galvanizing so the paint can stick. Works like a charm! ;)

Will do. Thanks

Mine is double wall black inside and selkirk double stainless outside. i'd use the 2 45's instead of the 90 inside. I think it makes a differance. it did on mine. i was having draft problems. removed the 90 replaced with 45's and installed the outside air kit. cleared the problem right up. can't say how much each change contributed to the solution. good luck. youll love your stove.
