I think this is some type of softwood found a truck load of it on the side of the road today.

Try burning some and you'll see why someone ditched it. I won't even use it for bonfires.
I burned a bunch of it one year in my OWB. Thought I was doing the property a favor by thinning out the junk. Wont do that anymore unless one happens to fall right in a field.
 
Thanks guys I split it today going to stack it in a pile by itself and it will be the first wood I burn in October. Stuff smells like crap! I did score 2 truckloads of red oak and got that split today as well :)
