I didn't need weights for this:

And that was probably in the range of load and trailer exceeding 3500 pounds.

badass!!! Wow, i'm surprised that trailer is rated for 3,500 lbs. Mine looks only slightly smaller and is only rated for 1,600.

3500# axle minus the weight of the trailer is supposed to be the load limit. It was a short distance run on very well known country roads at pretty low speeds. The trailer seems to handle it well (and it pulls well) and the tires are rated for it. I would not consider doing this on open roads.

still awesome! I actually went full country and just bought a Case 224 as a parts tractor on the cheap. It has the same motor and most other parts as the 444, just a shorter wheel base and frame. Has a bunch of parts I wanted to swap out anyways so i'll get my money's worth up front plus it has the original Case cart so now I don't have to get one. it's old school steel rated for 1k lbs and I don't have to worry about any crappy welds breaking like today's carts rated for 1k lbs.

Congrats on the new tractor(s). A friend of mine's family had one like that when I was a kid back in the 70s. I always wanted one. When I finally started looking for a garden tractor 4 years ago I ended up going with an IH Cub Cadet. I think just about any if the true Garden Tractors of that era are far superior to just about anything similar, if such a thing even exists, made today. It is amazing what 14 horse power and a well engineered, solidly built machine can do. Good luck with it and enjoy!

Thanks. It is pretty amazing when you think about it. If you throttled the overinflated HP numbers used today and got a side by side comparison of a real 14HP motor today and compared it to one made 30 years ago it would blow it out of the water even more. I had no idea when I started researching it how much torque and pulling power something that small with only 14 hp could produce. I was blown away.

Your new tractor will almost always run out of traction before it runs out of power. I have pulled rocks out the ground that are almost too heavy for me to move with a moldboard plow behind my 14 hp IH Cub Cadet.

When I was a kid. Dad had a Sears 12 HP. Boy did that thing have torque. We had two wheal weight on each rear wheel & chains. Easy to lift the front wheels. He had it for 30 years or so. He is now on his second JD.

I had a Jacobs with a single stage blower like that. It worked well, but shanked a lot, as you need to get the drum speed up. Is that one single stage.

Yeah it's single stage which can bring its own challenges. When snow blowing or in thick grass you need to keep the throttle fully up to keep the blades spinning fast. You can only really run half throttle when not running any implements.

You wanna see flat?

This is what it looks like in all directions.

I can already tell this is gonna be a new problem. I already bought my Case's younger sibling as a parts tractor. She runs and came with an original Case yard cart which I'm gonna restore as well. I already told my daughter it can be hers when she's big enough for it. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1400426360.325345.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1400426374.067794.jpg

Mine is not as cool but it's already nine years old and still working greatimage.jpg

I partial to 4's for some reason. I have a 44 bulldog special, 44 blackhawk, 44 Ruger carbine, 444 custom bolt rifle and then I find there is a 444 tractor! The stars maybe starting to align. Or is it the planets? Anyway I'm on the hunt now!
Good for you on your find!

"4" SURE!!

Man, those Cases are nice. Old garden tractors are a weakness of mine. I have two late '60s Economies - a 14 horse Power King and a 12 horse Jim Dandy.

Those look awesome. Old garden tractors look so much cooler than the garbage today. Especially the metal pan seat style ones though not as comfy. Love those tri rib tires. Thinking of getting some for my 444

I had one just like that a little newer with the pull behind cart and vacuum trailer. Beast of a mower with hydraulic drive, a 3 point hitch ,plow ,the works.I should have kept it ,but sold my farmett. Now i need one again.

Sweet Case. I love the old tractors. Just sold a 1972 John Deere 140 that I bought a few months ago. Liked tinkering around with it and the 14hp Kohler was a beast. Put some ag tires on it and it looked awesome. Ended up wanting something a little bigger and ended up with another Deere but with a FEL.

That's awesome. Any pics of the Deere's? I love old tractors. They look so much cooler than today's tractors. Especially the garden tractor variety. I would love a FEL but can't justify the size as I have a friend a few miles away with two new shiny kubota's if I need one.

Hybrid, here's a pic go the 140 before I sold it. Kind of miss it now. The kohler thumper sounded like a tractor. The Kawasaki in the 445 is sooooo quiet.

Man that thing looks cherry. Did you restore it yourself?

Some was me. New tires, coil, points, condenser, fluids, filter and plug were me. Paint was mostly done before I got it. Hope the new owner is enjoying it. I'm loving my 'new' 445

Still waiting on pics of that one. I love FEL's!
