Stumbled ino a scrounge of 2 4x8 trailer loads of locust rounds. As it stands, I got 80% of it, the carpenter ants got 15%, and one round rolled down the ravine that is just behind the woodline in the vid.

See, vertical rules! Those are pretty big rounds. If the rounds were a little smaller and easier to handle, you could line them up on a little hill going towards the splitter and be able to sit down I think, reaching over with a pickaroon to extend your reach. I take off slabs as I split the round, so you can use your feet to help move it over a couple inches at a time. Then I pick the splits up with one hand and toss into a waiting cart pulled by a lawn tractor. But, if the splitter is where you want the wood to be stacked, you're golden.
The poor arrangement you see was a timing issue... picked up the scrounge 2 weeks ago, needed the trailer since then so had to dump the rounds in situ, splitter only arrived this weekend, so it seemed best to take it to where the wood was...
Those are actually the smallest of the rounds I picked up! Next session will be behind the barn (in the shade), with splitter in place and trailer hooked to the Deere you can see in the vid.
