tulip poplar, best way to approach these rounds?

I would make a 16 and an 8, better yet throw the poplar back in the woods. Hate burning that chit.

I'd go with 12s, then split it small for kindling. The little bit I tried last year and it seemed to light really fast. I would rather start with it than that pitchy Pine I was using.

I usually cut everything 16" then make cookies of the rest and burn them in shoulder season, big cookies burn nice in the princess, I would throw a couple in on a milder day in the morning and had nice coals to get it going again when it got colder and dark.

I don't have a Blaze King but I'd cut it in half - two 12 inchers. I don't mind rounds that are too short, and since I scrounge all my firewood I get lots of odd lengths.
