Installed a 52i in a zero clearance kit today

Whew! That was hard man! Z box is kinda different from the Accentra. First and foremost.... The box now extends out in front of the fireplace surround and needs to be mounted flush with surrounding floor. Kinda sucks cause you have to drop your subfloor or build up you hearth. Flush mounting as in this picture is very tricky. Not sure how the new 52i ill take to mounts in existing a kit boxes such as gas or wood insert boxes....though it now DOES show an install in to a manufactured fireplace in the mechanicals. Notice in this pic how we had to scribe the floor around the front.

Thinking about going with this unit using zero clearance. Do you have any other pics of this install? How do you like the 52i?
 
Are zero clearance boxes made for new homes so a brick and mortar fireplace building is not needed?
That is why they are called zero clearance!

I'm sure you know what you are doing, but would you not mount the unit (where it is mounted to the floor) raised to the height of the tile or whatever your using for decorative finish? There is a bottom finish plate to the stove and wonder if it will fit?

Looking closer at the second pic, looks like you already accounted for the height diff...!

That is why the zero clearance box is made like that, to install on the plywood subfloor in a new construction home before the finished flooring goes in.
Putting it into a finished home can be done but that is why it is so difficult.

I'm probably going to have to do something similar with my install. I plan to raise my hearth, which right now is about an inch. If I raise that to 6in, I should ensure the subfloor under the zero clearance (adjacent to the hearth) is brought up to match the new level of the raised hearth? Is this correct? Or should the hearth be a half inch higher to account for the increased elevation created by the zero clearance box?
