Suggestions to replace DW 2461?

So, have you burned it yet? One advantage of the Dw is the blower option, when you need to recover room temp fast or get heated air moving in a less open layout. The Keystone is more of a radiant heater, the Dw adds convection and blower capability. I'd rather not have blower noise, of course...

Nope, not yet. Still need some stand-off heat shielding for the mantle - will probably do copper. Plus, the thing was installed in early June and it's been hot ever since. Will have to wait until September, I guess. Looking forward to getting it broken in and seeing what it can do...

Same here with only 1000' to heat (but not insulated well, with air movement between the wallboard and the logs.) We may add a room, though. Even with the smaller version of the IS, the 211, I would probably be running mostly a low cat-only burn.

Oh - logs and wall board. Log home? They have good thermal properties. Infiltration/exfiltration your main issue? You ought to be able to solve that ok. Any space between the wall board and the logs? You could have insulation blown in, if so. We had no wall insulation in our downstairs when we got here but the house was rebuilt around 1870 - converted from plank house to stud framing of rough-cut 2x4s inside the timber frame - so we were able to poke holes in the interior walls and blow shredded fiberglass into full 4" spaces. Made a huge difference. Chose against cellulose based on my experience retrofitting homes that had used that. I'd seen some poor settling and water damage with that so went with the fiberglass - has held up very well.
