As the title says, the assembly is that the tree fell during heavy winds last night / today. Whoever wants it need to chop it up.

I grew up on wood heat and as everyone who burns wood knows, this is the perfect time to cut the wood as it gives it time to season before the colder months. You'd have half seasoned wood which burns longer than fully seasoned wood as it isn't completely dried.
 
It's difficult to accept that Dad or Grandpa or some other admired person taught you something that was totally wrong.

Besides, it's not really totally wrong. Wet wood does take longer to burn.
