I've been quietly getting firewood advice from this forum for about a year now; have some gloat of my own to write about now. My next door neighbor had a MASSIVE White Ash tree come down this spring, and it took out another medium sized Ash and a large Black Locust. Cleaned up all the debris, and this is my payment. There's still a good 20ft of branch-free trunk left from the Ash; I plan to have that sawn into lumber.

Very nice. The quiet one until you have a haul to make us all jealous. Good idea for your long length of ash.

THAT is a nice pile of firewood, congrats!

Very nice load of very "clean" looking wood-I can almost smell it through the pictures.....:)

Very, very nice.

Looks great ! always best to work smart first. Could this be beginner's luck :p

Ash & Locust = perfect mix. Very nice.
Whatcha gonna do with the Ash lumber? I bet it would be not bad to work with for a hardwood...

Nice trifecta, congrats!

Nice......

The current plan for the Ash lumber is a new dining room table. But I'll have a few years to think about that. I also saved the nicest length of Black Locust - the one with the end sealer on it shown here - little over 7' long. I plan to use that to replace the wood on a couple of park benches that I have.

There were a couple more ash logs left on the trailer that I didn't post the other day:
