can i make my own blower?

since the blower for my old qf 2100i is not made anymore can i make my own? i guess i would just need two small fans that can withstand heat and some heat resistant thhn wire oh and some stainless steel plates to mount where the factory blower would mount

any ideas of where i could buy this stuff
 
Don't lose hope. I went throught this a couple years ago and found that there are all sorts of blowers and parts on the internet. Is this a Regency 2100? I think this place has it in their cross reference chart: http://www.electricmotorwarehouse.com/fireplace.htm
Also note that Rotom seems to make a blower to fit most hearth products. Take a look and let me know. I still have some other debris from my (successful) efforts.
 
Roughly 6 years ago,I traded a Playstation for a woodstove that had a defunct blower.I made a small sheet metal bracket and installed a new blower that looked like a hair dryer and wired it via a wall-mounted speed-controller.It worked fine,just a bit noisy on high speed.I wish I could remember the name of that little stove....It had no glass but a cast door with a bird similar to a piping plover or a kiwi if my memory serves me.

After purchasing a factory blower for 100 bucks and having it deafen me with noise,
i took it back and got 2 "duct-booster" fans and installed them.

Much cheaper and almost silent.

This is in a Majestic zero-clearance fireplace.

You can make your own stuff, and it is usually cheaper and better.

Factory pre-made stuff is just way easier and more convenient.
 
There is a surplus sales company that has all kinds of blowers and gadgets. I have delt with them for years . The items they sell are as described and their catalog is free. I don't think they list everything they have on their internet site but, they will send a catalog for free: surpluscenter.com

Hey,Titan how far are you from Kejimkujik national park,I camped there back in 1977 that
was the best experience in my life.
 
I think the blower KIT for that unit is discontinued but you can still purchase replacement parts and make the full kit (2 fans and the wire harness). I checked on this for another person (possibly you?) and it was going to be quite expensive unfortunately.

yup that was me :) i think the prices of the parts came in just under 300.00 therefore i should be able to make one for much less
