Saw a sign for free firewood 2 mins down the road - decided to have a quick look. Massive score not sure how many trees they have had chopped but this is just the front of the yard there's more further down.

Got 3 loads ~ 1 cord so far and at least 10 cords left possibly more. Its winter here and the ground is too wet to get to the good stuff. Mixed bag of Pine, Tulip and my favourite Blackwood.

That's pretty unbelievable. Looks like you might be able to cherry-pick the best stuff since all of it is for public consumption. It's kind of nice to work at your own pace instead of "you've got till 5 pm to get it off my yard"...

It's actually in somebodies front yard so i don't want to cause any damage as it is so muddy / wet at the moment. There's at least twice as much as what's in the photo ;lol

Oh, myyyyyy! _g Good luck getting the Blackwood out, but regardless, you should be set for a while with that score!

That close to the road, I would carry the rounds to the truck. Especially the primo stuff.

Are they letting whoever pulls up have at it? If so, I would carry or use a hand truck or small wagon to get at least the better stuff (even if it is wet/muddy).

Can't turn down a score that close to the house, that's for sure.

Anyone can have it but the good news is the road is a dead end so unless you were going there you wouldn't see it. They did have a couple of signs near my house - but somehow they have disappeared if you know what i mean ;). I am hoping this weekend will have dried the driveway a bit and then i can get the Blackwood. Its not the best wood but it splits soooo easy and it dries sooo fast and its a hardwood very similar in appearance and gsm as walnut.

My ute is a 4 wheel drive so i could get to the wood just don't want to damage the driveway. Its currently sunny and with a top of ~ 55 it might dry out.
