That's not bad compared to last year August price of 185.00 and now offering early buy price of 239.00 at fleet farm and 4.99 a bag at Menards that was on sale for $3.85. We have a smaller HD near me but probably won't stock till frost in October.

Well that spring shortage is now raising the price of pellet's, plus high fuel cost's

I've seen similar price increases at other places too.

If they start using pellets for power generation to meet new EPA guidelines we might as well be using propain again.

Based upon the price per gallon I just paid for heating oil, pellets would have to sell for $556 per ton to be less economical than heating with oil.

At an annual price increase of 23% at my local suppliers it wont take long! Fuel prices are down 20 cents per gallon on average from last year.

This oil delivery I just received cost me 45 cents per gallon less than my last delivery a year ago.

So about the only thing driving up pellet prices is demand and electric rates? We're going to be burning a lot of corn this season so I am not contributing to the rise.

Pellet manufacturers are shipping bulk pellets overseas by the barge full.

be patient they were high last year this time i buy in october home depot right now their supply is low

HD here same deal. Price increase for the last two years - 209 to 219 to 239. The FSUs are hardly cheaper at HD now than Cubex at the local pellet house.

was a the North attleboro HD this morning, they have a early buy promotion for NEWP that have instock for 4.65$ a bag if you buy 50+, add in 10% mill discount if you can and their under 210 a ton.

Heading to lowes later and i'll take a look at the pellet situation while im there

$210/ton is a great price for this area. Didn't think we would see it around here again this season. That's what I paid for pellets at TSC last fall, when they were at their lowest price.
