So I run an ad on CL on a fairly regular basis that states I'll take your down or damaged tree FOR FREE, but I'm only interested in hard woods. CL has been good for me but it can be a waste of time. Here is a response I received from a person after I replied to them asking for the address to look at a maple that's been down at least a year(wanted to inspect for rot before I took my gear there). In my response I told them I'm only interested in the maple and not the pine tree:

"so basically, you just want to take maple bc its worth more than the conifers? seriously? im offering something free and you cant give back by getting rid of the pine trees?"

I told him he needs to look for somebody else. People just don't realize the deal they are getting when it's not costing them a single cent. A tree service would charge at least $100 to do the same thing!!!!!

Lol. What are you going to do Bob? A wise man once said "you can't fix stupid".

Just answer with a "Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing. My time is worth money."

Theyd be LUCKY to get a tree company to do it for 100 bucks

People always want something for nothing

A $100 won't even pay time and fuel to get there, let alone Ins. labor rate and such.

I'm just glad I didn't waste my time to go there and hear this crap.
