Got a call from one of my close friends who is a farmer. Said that he had a semi load of wood for me . Turns out they are clearing some overgrowth at the edge of their fields. I wasn't expecting to get a load this time of year but they had no where else to go with it. They are all full at their houses and on the farm for their OWB. A neighbor had said that he would take a load, but then backed out. Best part is it was free and delivered! (Might cost me some beverages)Now hopefully the wife will let me start working on my wood shed so it not on the lawn. Not sure of what kinds are in the pile but I dont plan on burning this till 15/16.

Awesome score! Congrats!

Had to tell but I think I may see some White Ash in there...love that stuff!

Thanks! Had to pay the piper today. It cost me a round of golf and some beverages out on the course. Pretty cheap in my book. Didnt get a chance to really look at the pile, but it does look like there is ash (good eye Woody Stover), one lonely birch, some maple, and one tree I cant ID. My best guess is possibly beech because of the smooth bark on it. I will try and post some pics tomorrow and let the experts tell me what I have. Either way it is getting me three years ahead! Had to order a six pack of full chisel chains for the Makita. I know what my weekend will be full of.......

great score bud. you got to love friends like that.
