Are you happy with your 360? What do you have on it for a bar?

(I guess we're getting away from Flatbedfords topic - ooops. That 362 is a very nice looking saw. Would love to have one of those but I'm afraid there would be some dog house time for me if I came home with one...)
I just got it back. I bought it as a milkcrate full of parts, locked up, from a buddy. Another buddy put it back together with a new cyl&piston kit from Hyway. I wanted to use it this past weekend but didn't get time. I have a 20" bar on it but I'd like to find a 24-25" just in case. I have a brand new 391 with 20" bar, but I couldn't pass up the 360 for the price. Sorry for the derail

Well, I 've burned about two gallons of gas with the new saw since I bought it 2 months ago. I love this saw. It starts easily every time, runs like a top, and cuts like sumbitch!
Very happy with it. I ran it with the 25" bar and chisel skip chain while cutting my monster White Oak project and I think it cuts as fast with the big bar as my tired 036 did with a 20". Next time I need the big bar I'll skip the skip chain and go full chisel.

My $125 used 036 crapped out on me a couple weeks ago. https://www.hearth.com/talk/threads/rip-036.127991/ With Mrs. Flatbedford's blessing I went and picked up a beautiful new MS362 yesterday. It is a significant investment, but it should be the last saw I ever have to buy.

It looks so nice all new and shiny. I went with the 20" bar and the dealer gave me a yellow chain to replace the green that it comes with. I only made a few cuts with it last night, but I can tell that saw is everything I thought it would be! It starts on the second pull cold and runs like a beast! It feels much more powerful than I remember my 036 being. The anti-vibe is so much better too. It feels so comfortable and smooth. The specs say it weighs a bit than the 036, but it doesn't feel any heavier when using it. In fact the the added comfort makes it feel lighter and easier to handle. I don't know how old my 036 is, but Stihl sure has improved their product over the years. I can't wait to do some serious cutting with this saw.

There are few joys in life greater than getting the EXACT thing you want without compromise.

I sure hope so.
That's a nice avatar!
Good luck on your new saw.
Don't let the new fuel sit in the saw when you store it. Ethanol is the is brutal!
You could have saved a bundle and just used my 372xp-LOL

You should take some of your own pictures.
Hows the project coming along?
I bought the film rights!-LOL
The project is coming good but a little slow. engine and trans should be ready soon. Bought a new plow truck that im setting up now. and acquired a few cub cadets life is a project or two! PBU.jpg

I've got a few trees out back you can break it in on.....pretty saw.

25" full chisel is no problem. Performs about the same as with the 20" through White Oak knots and crotches.

This saw is awesome! I don't remember how many tank fulls I'm at now, but boy does it cut! Anybody want to trade something for a couple lightly used 25" Stihl full chisel skip chains?
