Major craigslist score

A add in the local craigslist yielded me about 3.5 cords of oak,hickory, maple, and cherry about 2-3 weeks ago That alone i thought was great, but today i met with the guy again and he asked if i wanted to help him clear the remaining 15 acres over the course of the next few years. I took a quick survey of the area today, and the first part to be cleared is probably easily 40+ trees, the rest of it is heavily forested and is many many more.

It will be alot of work but also free firewood for years to come. Will take some pics sometime this week when i go out for the 1st round of cutting.

Anyone in the north central area of CT that would be interested in helping , especially this fall, feel free to let me know and we can meet up.

Awesome, we can probably get several of us in there at a time. The site is in new hartford just off of 202 on the western side of the city. Fairly close to rt 8. Will post up some details of when we can get access in a week or so. The owner does have a waiver he wants us to sign saying we are basically cutting at our own risk, and that we are required to wear ppe while cutting (chaps, safety glasses, etc). I am going to be finishing the clearing on the 1st section tomorrow, so it looks like maybe sometime 8/18 or later we will be able to start the next section.

Site is in a large field, most of which is several hundred yards from the road. May need 4wd at times, trailer access is unknown at the moment as i have knly driven there by atv so far.

I will be away on vacation from 8/8-8/17. When i return i plan to start cutting on the weekends i am not working. Will call everyone that sends me a pm the week of 8/18 and set up plans from there based on your availability.
