I just wanted let everyone know that this coming up weekend August 16,17 is tax free in Mass.
When I was doing some pellets research I happen to notice this on a website that's in Mass.
I finally got finished installing my new Harman Accentra 52i last weekend. Now I just have a week
to decide which brand of pellets to get. I will post back on here in a couple of days with some of my
options for which brands that I can get in my area along with prices. I will definately be looking for some
opinions. I hope this post will save some people money next weekend. Good Luck!!!

Oh, you'll dig this: pellets are exempt from taxes year-round in Mass. I just ordered a few tons with a beautiful "Taxes = $ 0.00" on the invoice. You can see it described on this page at Mass.gov.

ISSUE 2: Is the sale of firewood, kindling, combustible fireplace logs or similar items used to operate a home fireplace or home wood stove taxable?

DIRECTIVE 2: The sale of firewood, kindling, combustible fireplace logs, or similar items used to operate a home fireplace or home wood stove is exempt from sales tax.

Yep. Pellets are always tax free in MA but if anyone is in the market for a pellet stove, provided it costs less than $2500, you can get that tax free next weekend.

That is great news. So I guess that I don't have to run out and bye them next weekend. I do plan on getting them soon though.

I agree the sooner the better. I've had next winter's stash sitting in my basement since April. All six tons of it.

You guys realize that it is only a 6.5% savings
I O W
$62.50 for every thousand you spend

Granted better than nothing, but.......sheesh you'd think they were giving away houses with a couch purchase.

Sales tax rate is 6.25% but your dollar figure is corrrect.

I been holding off buying the remaining construction materials from lowes to finish the deck and to redo the porch.

10% coupon + 10% mil discount + no sales tax 6.25% = I'll take what i can!

I live in connecticut and took advantage of this deal ppurchased the Harman Accentra 52I INSERT

Stove - $3,899 (minus $200 harmon coupon) = $3,699
Install - $400
Venting - $400
Tax - $0

The offer had 2 tons free pellets AND free ash vac and i got 0% financing for 48 months.

I've been shopping this for 9 months and this is the best deal i've come across - stove and install cost me 4500 out the door with about 650 in freebies
