If the chimney isn't real tall, you probably don't need a key damper. How tall is the chimney, and BTW what does the manual say is the minimum?

That's not excessively tall but I would think different stoves might react differently to that amount of stack. If you can reach up into the pipe and think you can hold a key damper plate in place while you thread the rod through from outside the pipe, you might just try it first without the damper, then put one in later if necessary. I have done that on a couple different stoves. But I don't think that 25' is generally a problem unless the stove is leaky and you don't have enough control over the amount of air coming into it.

I going to say you have the TR001B model. The minimum is 15 feet on that model. You should be fine with the height you have it's the correct amount. The air control are very good on that stove. As suggusted I would run it first without the key damper and just use the air controls on the upper right front of the unit. If you feel you would want a key damper it can be added later although I believe you will not need one.
I'm thinkin you're gonna need one.
General rule of thumb is to use one in chimneys OVER 22 feet.
