So here I am worrying about getting my short wood supply seasoned in time for this winter...

Then I walk outside with my morning coffee to hear the sound of chainsaws and chippers NEXT DOOR.

Hop on the tractor and trundle over there....

Me: "Hey buddy, think I could score a little hardwood from all these trees you're clearing?"

Foreman: "Cherry ok?"

Me: "Sure."

Foreman: "If you can take that whole grapple, you can have it all."

Doesn't help this winter, but 2015/16 is looking up.

The best news of all is that Mrs. Blue has pre-cleared the purchase of a new Stihl!

"I got some Black Locust mixed in... you ok with that?"
"Yup... here's your beer."

Your wood Karma is strong Grasshopper!! Congrats - I picked up some easy access oak this summer being cut at my parents neighbors - about 2 cord or red and white with a lot of blue in it(yard trees) fortunately I didn't have to touch it with the saw. Just split and stack.
