Just moved 2 full cords into the shop/boiler room, should last till the new year although fingers are crossed for January 20th. We are expecting rain this weekend and thought best to move now since it has been dry for a week.

So, tell us. Are ready?

I'm ready but I don't want to rush the fall away. There's no way I'll go through 2 cord by January, you must burn a ton of wood.

Actually last winter was a lil over 8 tons.

I am 1 cord short of good wood. I am all set for 2015. I'm on the lookout every night on CL looking for the rare seasoned cord......

I am as close as I can be for a first year burner. I have a little over 3.5 cords ready to burn verified via multi meter trick! Its been a lot of work to scrounge that much dead standing wood. On the plus side I have over a cord and a half of oak trunks that are on par to be dry enough for next year. I will be cutting it close but I have a NG furnace if I need it. I was told 3-4.5 cords to heat the house I'm renting depending on the winter. If my 2/3 cord of boxelder dries a little more for my shoulder wood, I will definitely have enough then.

I have a really good start for the 15-16 season of plenty of smaller oaks that should dry in time and plans of cutting more dead elm this fall once the temps cool down a little!

Ready since Spring when I loaded up the wood for 2015-2016 into the woodshed for another year of seasoning . . . so technically . . . I guess I was ready for this winter back in the Spring of 2013 when I loaded the shed up with the wood I am burning this year . . . although . . . one stack was loaded in the Spring of 2012 -- didn't burn that stack up in 2013 . . . should be plenty dry by now.

The Farmers Almanac said the same cold winter as last winter for the northeastern states. I guess the verdict is out. So..I got the same amount of wood as last winter. Personally I dread it.

last year was 8.5 cords of wood, hope this year isn't that bad but i am ready if it is

I went through 10 cords last winter. That ate through my wood pile. Most of last year`s wood was standing dead pine, so that`s why I went through so much. We burned from October to May. This year, I have 4 cords of hardwood. I`ll try to start my burn season later in december. But if you guys are calling for the same winter as the last, ....eesh!

I am ready wood wise, other than that NO. Lets not rush the next season, you know, the one before WINTER.

Last year, I went thru. 5 cords by the OP's January 20. :-/

Four pallets of the Old Farmer's Almanac will get most burners through the winter.

I'm ready, but I'd rather have this weather year round, 80's during the day and low 60's high 50's at night. Windows open, shorts and a t shirt with a winter hat on right now haha. I love shorts/sweatshirt season
