I don't want to jinx myself so details will follow when I finalize the deal, but I'm excited about a bigger saw. Been looking for something bigger since I sold the 391, and the 064 just seems to be elusive and out of my price range, probably overkill for what I cut also. Details ASAP, its gonna be a good day if it all pans out ==c

OK I just purchased a rebuilt MS 460 powerhead from a member at AS. No bar but I have a 24" and if need be I can always get a bigger one. I'm pretty excited. I think it was a good price, $500 American. Happy days ;)

Congrats! Bet you'll love it.

Thanks Dougand3! I'm super excited, like Christmas Eve kinda. He is sending it out Tuesday so hopefully by the weekend I'll be throwing some chips with it

enjoy the rooster tails..

Got the saw today, strapped the 24" B&C on it, then dropped and dissected most of a big dying ash in my yard that had been dropping limbs in about an hour and a half. I'll put up some pics tomorrow. Runs great, made the 360 feel like I was using my 025. Love this saw

I PMed nmurph about an 044/440 and he hadn't gotten back to me when I found this one. He did eventually reply, said $475 plus shipping for a rebuilt 044 he was working on. I got this powerhead for 500 shipped, and it kicks butt! So far anyway, I am not disappointed. I touched up the chain on the 360 and will finish bucking today, then split it if I have time. The saw actually came from a guy in Lebanon Indiana

Looks like a fine job. I hate you having to split and stack all that - send some south.

Haha yeah I gotcha, it's on it's way ;) Maybe I can "bribe" the kids to help with some stacking. Yeah, right...

I thought the MS360 I have runs pretty good also... until I ran the 460 Friday  I guess it's all relative

I have yet to run one. The guy I traded for the 361 has 2 of them tried to trade him for one in the first place but no luck he likes them too much

I got my Stihl dealer on the lookout for a nice used one. He gets them on trade evey once in a while. If nothing else ill wait for tax time, gotta have it

I have a 460 and a 260 don't think I would trade either, The 460 is an animal. You will like it more with each use, I know I do.

What size bar do you run on the 460? I have a 24" on mine and yes it IS an animal

I run either a 18" or 24" depending on what I am cutting. If you think it chews threw logs with a 24" put a 18" on it and it is even quicker.

I bet it does! I only have a 20 and 24" that would fit that saw and the 20" is on the 360. Might have to try the 20" for poops and giggles someday
