I recently purchased another FA264CCL that is in better shape than the one that i currently own. There are some differences in the new one that I am unsure about. Hope someone can help.
1. The combustor chamber contains a round steel disk with a series of holes. I believe that this may only be needed for coal burning. if i plan to burn wood, and plan to buy a new combustor, then i'm thinking that i do not need to use the steel disc....correct?
2. the stove has fairly new grates. the side shaker grates seem to work well. i'm not sure if the new fixted center grate is installed properly. does anyone have a photo that would show how it is supposed to look? it protrudes way above the side grates.
3. the square plate underneath my combustor is soild. where my other stove had a square plate with a series of holes. does anyone know why that plate was solid? i plan to use the combustor, so i will need to purchase the plate with the holes in it. or can i just drill my own holes?
4. any tips on how to cut gasket material without fraying the ends?
