Anyone try North Country Softwood Pellet Yet?

Where you see them?, I think i saw some at a TSC near me under wrap's, I might of got confused and thought they were North American's which are garbage

TSC doesn't sell these, although I wish they did. My buddy bought a few tons last year and traded me a few bags to try. They are some of the hottest pellets I have burned. Very light in color; they look just like Okanagan Platinums and burn like them too.

TSC sold NCs last year. I saw them in the Plaistow NH store.

Wow, did not know that. These pellets at box store prices is a serious deal. This sounds similar to the situation that occurred last season where a few folks reported finding Blazers at some HD locations in New England for ~$200/ton. Why can't I ever come across a steal like that?

I'm likely going to get 2 of these and 2 lacretes.

Burned 2 ton last year without issue (but my stove will burn anything) My pellet dealer did no get NC this year due to packaging issues i.e. incomplete sealed bags (lots of them)

I have heard of systematic bag sealing issues in the past, for example my dealer told me he had issues with La Cretes last year and I've heard some Barefoots have the same issue this year. My biggest issue with the North Country pellets is the bags are just plain cheap quality. The plastic is too thin and rips very easily, so just be careful when handling them.

Who did you source them from?

Here's a little info on North Country. They are manufactured within 300 miles of Lacrete's. Brand new mill, limited production. here are the test results and a picture of them. Both have very consistent fiber as both are attached to sawmills and are using their own sawdust and shavings.

just for your information here are Lacrete results. both use very similar fiber. They also are located in Northern Alberta. Great fiber and very consistent.

nice, i burned barefoot, lacrete, oakie black hills last year and some other lower grade stuff and the lacrete's were hands down the winner IMO. I don't get the hype on barefoots. very dense, so low qty bags... my stove chewed through them and they were 'average' output to boot. for the price, never again.

Any feedback? I just purchased 3 ton after speaking with people who burned them last year. Picking them up next week. Very anxious...,

Burned a few the other nite. Seemed to be a darker flame than the ones that I normally burn, haven't burned enough to really tell about ash.. They smelling great!!

I have three tons in my basement. I burned two tons last year. The best pellets I have used to date; very fluffy ash and produce immense heat.

I had three bags on each pallet that were ripped, but I think it was from the dealer, not the manufacturer. I would recommend these to anyone! You can see one bag I salvaged with duct tape sitting on top of my stash.
