Anyone upgrade their Englander 25-EP ash trap bolts in fire box to Stainless Steel?

Hello

Maybe this is a little fussy, but I had a bolt break off because they get stressed so close to the heat!

Luckily there was a bolt missing on this Evolution but at first glance with the ash in the hole it looked like a broken bolt! ! ! LOL

So I took out a bolt and measured it on my bolt gage. Hmm 10-32 3/8" long
The Bolt Depot has SS Hex heads to be the same as OEM

Went down to local HW store Hillsman display
They did not have Hex Head SS 10-32 but they did have round phillips head. :)

I like your work and posts! I changed the screw type (to stainless steel) on my QuadraFire CB1200i at the same location

Where we replace mild steel bolts we always use ss. We never use Phillips heads though, always hex so you can get them out next time with a socket. Ground out too many Phillips heads over the years I am afraid.

Good to know about the SS bolts. I cannot get any hex head SS bolts that size arounnd here, so I will have to order up some on the internet.
