Sweet, nothing like the satisfaction of knowing the 1st week of September that you'll be warm until March

I wonder how long before Pellet-King comes here and tells you that you got sucked in.

You just beat me to saying that myself.... I'm ready and it's a good feeling!

Feels pretty good to be prepared, doesn't it?

Yup. I've been burning pellets since 2005. One year I ran out of pellets late in the season. That became my incentive to stock up early and buy about twice my normal usage. Works for me.

I got about 1500 lbs in the closet, and 4500 lbs out in the garage, but the 4th ton has to lie outside right now and my delivery in a month of another 4 tons will also have to live outside till I make room. I don't look forward to moving them in a bag at a time this winter. :-(

Nice. Looks like you have quite a bit of room there. Do you have a pallet jack? Or did they drop them right against the wall for you?

The delivery guy used an electric pallet jack to place two of the 1 ton pallets against the wall. I had to manually stack the other 2 tons.

In a typical heating season I will use about 1 1/2 tons. Last year it was unseasonably cold and I went thru 2 tons. As you can see from my pictures I stack them close to the steps so I can just grab a bag as needed.

I just bought 4 tons of somerset today... Hand stacked, backs killing me, but I'm glad I have the lions share ready to go.

I'd done a pre-buy of 2 tons at TSC, so the 1st 2 tons of Somerset were at $225 per. The final 2 tons were at $240. (that includes a TSC $10/ton purchased)

Ah, Lowe's just had the big propane "back of the truck" forklift. The three wheeled type. He had to drop the pallets about a foot and a half from the outside wall.

Don't worry about that. He's entitled to his opinion. Bottom line for me is being prepared. If I have money and space, I'm buying early. If that means I end up paying a little more on the extremely unlikely chance that prices actually go down in winter then so be it. We live in New England yet I always marvel at people who wait until the night before a major snowstorm to go to Lowes to buy a shovel.

Just had my first ever 2 tons delivered today. 2 more tons to be delivered later this month. Stacked em high, trying to get 4 tons on 3 pallets. The 3 bags with the duct tape had small holes.

A local lumberyard stocks Cleanburn douglas fur pellets year round for $199/ton. I buy them as needed, no stocking up.

You Western Guys can just stop teasing the yankees now. Honestly.. enough with the ho.. hum.. I just bought a ton of DF's for 200 bucks... ;)

I been burning pellets for 6 years. This year I added wood and elected to not install my PS at my new house yet. Hopefully I don't regret since my 3 cords are a year out from burning and the Envi bricks are $300 a ton
