Then he said there was another further down the field i should get. Ill have plenty of wood 3 winters from now. Have wood this year. But nothing dry for next year.

Lot of BTUs in those rounds. Nice score.

I have a bit of the same problem. Plenty of ash and black locust that should be real nice in a couple years, but nothing for next year. I'm going with the same plan from this year - softer stuff, like soft maple and poplar (blech!) split small. Split all of that in spring/early summer, and it's already good to go - sub 20's on the MM. So that's the plan for next year as well.

Thats prolly what im going to have to do for next year also. Cut some pine. Mabe i can find some standing dead that good and dry. Havent gotten a mm yet but its on the list.

Holy cats those are some big heavy rounds-if they fall on your toes you'll scream lol!!!

Big mamas.......:)

Nice wood, easy to split, good burning.

I used to kill myself and lift rounds like that. Now I noodle them or use the tractor if available. Not worth wrecking your back.

Nothing's worth wrecking your back.

I agree. We put a round at the tailgate. Then would flip another onto it. Then flip it onto the tailgate. The only one we actually had to pick up was the last one.

I use a 2×6 and roll them up & in... Lot easier unloading them (*ha)
