Hello all,

I purchased a brand new Oslo this summer and looking through it I noticed what appears to be a rather large gap where the secondary manifold clamps together on the pipes on the right side. The left side doesn't look like this. Before I tear it apart I figured I'd check and see if this is maybe (hopefully) superficial. Have a look.

Mine fits down tight into the bottom recess.

Mine is similar . . . although it appears as though there is not as large a gap . . . hard to tell the actual size in a pic.

Mine is clamped down tight. I would shoot a picture to Jotul NA.

While I certainly appreciate a well-used stove, there's something beautiful about the inside of a new one...

Say it ain't so! I hope it isn't a defect. I am buying one next year.

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably check with my dealer and see what they say. But if they don't want to come look at it I'll just see how it works before doing anything else. I will post an update when I hear back.

Originally I thought you were just worried that the baffle was not sitting flat enough on the tube. Now I see that the secondary air manifold is seperated. That is definitely not correct!

If I had to make a guess it appears that the casting was not machined properly. That is pretty sloppy fitment.

looks to me like the 2 halves are not together It might be an easy fix but hard to say. Absolutely get your dealer out to look at it

You can probably email the photos to your dealer, or get a hardcopy (can even send them to some stores to print them at photograph quality). In any event, show your image and the one webby3650 supplied.
PS: have you tried to move it by hand? Are those screws loose? Might just need things moved into alignment and then the screws tightened...

Update. I sent my dealer an email with both my pic and the one Webby posted. We'll see what they say.

Just got the chimney liner in a couple weeks ago. Still need to stuff some Roxul up and make a block off plate before sliding the Oslo in to the fireplace.
