Ouch! That hurt the wallet!!!

I have a couple test bags of Olympus Cascade 100% DF pellets from Home Depot (new product for them and me). At $239 per ton, thinking about using them instead of Golden Fire next year

Boomer I think they can fit 20 ton on a tractor trailer I'll split one w ya next spring so we don't feel inadequate
Well if you can wait 14 more years, I can retire and won't be saying in CT where they tax E V E R Y T H I N G !!! My wife like the Lancaster area and from what I understand as of today, PA is a lot of retiree friendly in terms of not taxing all of your income! Then we can split the trailer and have a drink at the same time! (hope you're a Crown Royal man)

Sounds good look me up

Trailers have 22 typically, so if you guys are Spinal Tap fans, you can each turn up the volume to... 11! Have a good night everyone. Tip your waitresses!!!

Sweet were in pig mode

My first stove was just installed last week and I already had 4.5 tons stacked in the garage waiting!

Nice! So how many tons must a man have before being qualified as a pig? I'm guessing more than our 4+ lowly tons :(

2 ton of Corn in the basement, about 1 ton of pellets left from last year, thinking about another ton or so of pellets, all my stoves will burn corn and I live in an area that corn is plentiful this year and cheap ( $125 ton ) so no worries .

Now I'm tempted to go buy more!

Out of curiosity do you use the boiler for the rest of the year to heat your water? If so how much is actually used for the "winter", I have been thinking of going the boiler route.....
I used 4 tons last year with our pellet boiler and highly recommend going that route, it also provides our hot water. The heat is much more controlled and even throughout the house than when we used our pellet insert.

More would probably be ok considering where you live... you'd probably be more within the 5 - 6 ton range! (omg hope I didn't just make you feel worse!!!)

I've got 4 ton stacked now, but I won't be happy until my second 4 ton arrive. He here won't pre-sell here, but I am on the waiting list. Page 40! Last week they were calling up page 12... :-(

Sorry... Hardwood pellets are impossible to find out here. Plus, in my area, so are many stove brands/models and related items represented by superlative dealers. Pellet boilers are totally foreign

What are the Greens going for at Lowes?
They are going for $239. a ton, while supply last. Seven ton sold yesterday in three hours. They may order more,
with the sales that quick.
good luck.

Got 6 tons of Granules LGs in the garage and plant to pick up another ton of Maine Woods Pellets at Wallyworld, they got'em at $210 a ton, not bad for shoulder ends of the winter, I will grab what I can all winter long as well. Always like to have a reserve going into the next winter! That's the beauty of pellets, you can store as much as you want given space, not true with oil and propane!

I thought it was 3+ tons to be a pig. Maybe that changed with the times. Last year we burned 4, so this year, we've got 5 ready to go. Don't think I can get congressional approval to take up any more space.

I have 6 on hand but will probably only burn 3. Is it your usage or how much you store that defines "pig"

If I tried to store any more than 4 tons, then one of the cars has to sleep outside for the winter.... since I wouldn't win that battle, then you could say I'm happy with the 4 tons :) Happy wife, happy life!

We had 5 tons last yr for the 2 stoves. Ended up getting another ton late season. So this yr I ordered 6 tons and wouldn't you know it, the LaCretes are 1.2 tons to a pallet. So I actually have 7.2 tons. Should not run low this season.
Bring the cold. LOL

Went through over 10 tons last year. Currently have just over 11 ton on hand. Thinking about getting one more ton for peace of mind.

Wow. 10 tons? We used 6

Have 2.5 tons so far. Hoping to add another ton this weekend
