35 out here this AM. Went out and had to plug in the tractor! Temps are a month early.

I have been burning for almost a week. It is far to early to be turning on the pellet stove.

I have my windows open and window fans still going in my bedroom, it was 52 here

It's 18°C here, my kids are at a friend's house swimming (outdoor pool) today...but I picked up 4 tons of pellets yesterday for when the temperature drops.

Diped to 43 last night here. I just started the heat pump. Will use it until it can no longer keep up, except for an occasionnal burn, mostly for ambiance!

Edit : 43 degrees *outside* !

No heat here till at least October.

How do you like your heat pump?

It's a new install in a new house, so it's too late to appreciate the long term performance. However, it seems to work well, make minimal noise and consume not much power, when looking at the turning wheel in the hydro counter! Got to have the ceiling fan working however. I have a 16 feet high cathedral ceiling with the indoor unit at 15 feet, so heat packs-up real well up there!

My wife is hot all the time. I probably won't turn the heat on 'till November.

In the meantime, I'll put on a sweater.

I know what your talking about... I saw the weather was gonna change this morning, I quickly mowed the lawn, then swept the chimney, then took the inside of the stove apart, did a very good cleaning. When I got done it was raining outside felt raw, you could actually see your breath. I lit a small fire around 1pm and have kept adding small pieces, currently a nice 74deg of dry heat in here. The girlfriend who is at an out door wedding with her sister just texted wondering if we could have a fire tonight, she said it is freezing here, and she could see her breath lol..should I tell her I already have one, or should I say.. "sounds like a good idea, i'll light one right now"..
