Home Depot in Middletown has Stove Chow at $239 a ton. They were trying to get $285 a ton a couple of weeks ago. I just ordered 3 tons. I'm glad I waited.

Gonna check out my local HD today. I wasn't sure how SC would do in our older stove but I hear it works great in the p61, which is what we purchased last year. I'll pick up a few bags and test it out.

Just wondering, you think SC is hot enough for the cold months too? I'm still learning the ins and outs of pellet purchasing....it's the cold CT winter we had last year that makes me nervous!

Thanks for the heads up!

I have burned a couple of tons of Chow over the past two winters. I think it's plenty hot. I rarely turn my stove past level 3 (out of five). I'm heating 1,400 sf or so on one level. If you see Lignetics at HD pick that up. They had it last year, and it was great stuff.

Thanks for the advice. I'm starting late this season - but I plan to hit HD and Lowe's today and pick up a few bags of SC/FSU/LIgs if they have em. If I have enough time, I'm going to stop by the two local Agways and see what they have. Usually hamers at one and Energex (is that how you spell it) at the other. I'll play around and see what I can figure out before I need to pull the trigger and buy :)
