Fired up tonight for the first time this season.
44 out and was down to 66 in the house. Supposed to be kinda cold all weekend and longer I guess around here.
Was a pretty fire for a few hours! Now she is crawling along just off the cat so as not to overheat the house.

It was 65 in the house this morning. So I closed the windows. I am tempted to fire up the stove, but it's not going to happen yet. Maybe tonight we will sit by the fire pit.

Would just like to thank eveybody who commented and gave me advice on my purchase and setup of my new Englander. Lit her up for the first time this morning to cure the paint. hard time getting the draft started since it was in the mid-upper fifties outside and like 67 inside, but once the new chimney was warmed up she was cruisin' along nicely. Wifey gave a thumbs up to the view inside the window(our old circulator had no window). Thanks for the warning about the smell! Once the stove got up.to 3-400 degrees she really started to stink! uploadfromtaptalk1410640310802.jpg

We had one last night just to take the chill off.

My 30 received the first fire of the year today as well. Hope you are as happy with yours as I have been with mine.

Rest in pieces Wondercoal. There is a new Sheriff in town.

Looks great!

Looking good Woody, glad to see you taking care of the doggy too....

We had our first snow yesterday, I had a fire going to test out the new chimney pipe. Wife got home, looked at the stove and said " but it's still summer..." Not at 9000ft honey...

Jeez that's high! I live at just under 4000 ft. I've climbed on glaciers as low as 5000 ft in BC and have been up many peaks that are 9000 ft and covered in ice year round. Even Mt Baker in Washington which Ive climbed is ten and a half thousand. I always wanted to visit Ouray Colorado for winter ice climbing, Colorado also has some massive peaks! Sorry guys I thought I was in a climbing forum for a minute ;em

I missed it by a few days when I posted this on the 17th of August. ;lol

I'm sure the cool weather will bring us out of the woodwork to start chatting again. In the summer I'm usually finding tips to work on my old F150 at the big Ford truck enthusiasts sight but now it's time to check in here again. :p

Is that the Englander NC-30? It looks like the ones I've seen on You Tube reviews. Nice stove and not too pricey either. Big glass.
