Looks like 3-4 cords once processed . I think it's Ash and Beach? I paid $150 for it not sure if that's to much?
The logs in the smaller pile on bottom are 30in just to give an idea of the size.

Get some split pics of that smooth barked wood. The heartwood doesn't look like the right color for beech. I've cut trees that we're smooth barked and looked like beech but had maple-like leaves and their heartwood looked a lot like that wood you've got

Other wood looks like white ash to me

EDIT: The rot in the bottom pic threw me off. Top pic does look like beech

That is beech in there for sure. Hard to tell what you got. Looks like less than a cord. But if those logs are 30" then it is considerably more. Take another photo with a beer bottle in front of one for perspective.

It was a chipper truck and a 14 foot trailer full , it should be 3 cords , I'll know we I get done.

You got beech and I'm not sure what, I hope you got more wood for that for a buck 50......

RAM,
you're here in Jersey. Do you have a good contact for wood? And that was the best deal I found. That pile is is over 30'feet long. A guy by me s selling rounds for 50 a pickup load, split it's less than half a cord. I def.hope I have 3 here.

But please share

A $100.00 a cord for logs is a fair amount. If the pile only makes a cord its okay. Beech is great firewood, Ash too. Its clean. A great find if 2 cords.
I'd be happy with it but you have some work there.

JohnJohn, where in Jersey are you? I'm in Sussex (NW) county. May be able to help you out if you're close.

When I first saw the picture I thought it was ash and silver maple. The white heartwood makes me think it's silver maple.

mikey517- in down in the valley if u wanna dump some off, 2 min away from u

I don't think the other wood is silver maple but it may be tulip popular instead of ash. Has a big heartwood and the ridges may not have enough checks for ash.......

LOL, I'm scurrying to fill my rows for this season!

I do know some guys who may have wood if you need it. Actually, you probably know them, too.

I could see a couple cords there easy. A lot of tree guys here in Bucks County drop of the wood for free so they don't have to pay to dump it. I have three stacked since early July, with half of that from a tree dump. I see Mikey is highland lakes, I have family up on Waywayanda, seems like wood would be easy to come by up there. Other parts of jersey, not so much.

Hiya, Arlo! I can get downed wood, and being retired gives me time. It's the space needed. Also, talking to a tree guy up the road, more and more people are keeping their wood when he does jobs. It's getting harder for him to keep his supply. He's doing tree work for two neighbors and he knows I'm getting the wood. It's no problem for us as he does some work for me as well...

Mikey517 - we need another storm to reload the two exists to 23, I'm 3yrs ahead, but now I need to start preparing for 17-18 winter - lol it seems so far away but it really isn't. I was up in your neck of the woods lastnight at my buddies, believe it or not we split close to three cords in 2 hrs, had two splitters going at the same time. Had a lot of neighbors "take walks" up the street, guess they wanted to know what all that noise was..lol

Sorry if this is an ignorant question as I still consider myself somewhat of a newbie... but where does one find loads of logs for purchase? Are there national vendors/suppliers? Or is something I'd have to seek out locally?

I did a search and have seen a few guys here on the forum purchase truckloads of logs.

It is best to contact local area tree removal or land cleaning companies. Expect to email or call numerous companies before someone responds.
