Is Micore 300 material acceptable for Stove Baffle Board replacement?

Hi group,
I have a Heatilator Constitution C-40 (installed in 2008) with a ceramic baffle board & ceramic blanket. The baffle board is cracked into 4 pieces (that still can join together tightly as one piece), but I am considering to replace it since have everything removed for my chimney cleaning this next week. Warranty is out for replacement after the 5 years. I see several ads for BOTH the board & blanket at upwards of $150! Blanket is still good though. Can I just use a piece of Micore 300 for this application? I see that the ceramic baffle board is rated at 2300 degrees Fahrenheit, but I don't see any specific flame/heat rating for the Micore 300? Anyone have knowledge & experience in using Micore 200 for baffle? If Micore is not a good option, does anyone have a recommendation as to a source for cheaper material?

No. I tried it and started a thread on it. It lasted for a couple weeks as I recall.

I looked around and found the cheapest original equipment stuff.

I went to a company that builds and repairs kilns and heat treat furnaces. After we got past the "you are just a consumer idiot phase" with a less than helpful sales guy ( must have been a bad day) we got along fine. I had done my research on high heat materials ( 2000 deg.+) prior to contacting them, so had enough memory retention to be dangerous.

Here is a link for the real stuff. You would have to cut it down to the appropriate size but it is probably much cheaper than buying from the manufacturer. I will be replacing the baffle boards in my Englander 30 this fall with this stuff. They've been around for a while and there have been a number of people on this board who have purchased from them.

Been there, done that, not an acceptable substitute except for very short term use while waiting for the real thing to arrive. I used the 300, and had to do a new one every couple of days.
