38.4 here this morning...went to work 1:30 am came home to 62.5 in the house ...touched it off....first burn..
well after my complete cleaning , evidently i didn't put the fines plate on good..auger wouldn't turn...
had to stop and think about this one before i figured it out..lol..

Girlfriend commented this morning. "Furnace is going to come on today if we don't lower the thermostat." Guess that's my cue to finish the install and get her ready to go for some light work overnights.

Most mornings last week up in mid upper Maine we had the propane heater on in the rental cabin for a couple of hours. But Friday we left it on all day, windy day the high was 54.. Sat morning it was 36 deg when we woke up to return to Cape Cod. When we got here it was nearly 70 deg outside and a bit sticky in the house as it was closed up. Overnight dropped enough to close some windows. NO stove on here just yet but it's coming soon enough. I still have to rod out that last foot of venting, I haven't purchased the additional rod yet.. Sept 24th I'm installing my OAK. I have that day off from work. Still have two more tons of pellets to buy, we have two though plus about 15 bags from last years supply.

was 46 here now 49 at 6am, I still haven't cleaned my stove from last year, still have not bought any pellet's either, most HD are running out around me, there playing games to keep the price at $239, but my buddy's in NH are seeing them $219......no worries here my friends, been thru this game a looong time

How much is that propane costing you ? Can you avoid using it?

We have an oil furnace so we just turned down the thermostat. We're going to hit freezing over night Thursday. I'm finishing the install today hopefully. Depends on my buddy coming over in time. He has to help me cut the holes in the wall.

It got down to upper 30's here last night so I woke up to a chilly 62 degree house. I've been waiting for an exhaust gasket to show up so I haven't turned on the stove yet. Mid 30's forecast later this week so it looks like I may fire it up real soon.
Since I'm the wife AND I work 2 jobs AND I'm the one that looks after paying the bills... the furnace got turned on the other morning (oil) to take the chill out, and last night we replaced the door seal on the stove and did some other maintenance that had been overlooked during this extremely brief glimpse of summer we had. Tonight when I came home from work from afternoon shift, I fired up the pellet stove, set the temp with the thermostat that was installed over the weekend, and we're good. I'll get at least a half tank of oil put in sometime in the next week or so, and we still have some pellets left from last winter that we'll use, until DH gets *his* work done on this years pellet stash storage. We'll be putting in at least 2 ton to start, but we're in a fortunate position where we live 25 mins from our pellet supplier, and right up to the end of the season, there was no shortage in supply at all. I am hoping we'll be able to put in another 2 ton soon, but DH has a bit of work to do in our 2nd storage location (no garage here, and basement is subject to flooding in spring and fall, so it's touchy storing pellets there). I refuse to be cold. If I work that many hours, one of them being a home business, I'm going to be comfortable while doing it. This will be our first full heating season with the stove, and I'm looking forward to it being a cheaper overall season than last year, plus it being the warmest our house has been since we moved in 3 years ago. Bring it winter... I'm ready.

My stove was on for the first time Monday morning... 42 outside / 60 inside... but 2 hours later all was wellcome on, i have my windows open in CT
However, if all I still had was my electric baseboard heat, 60 inside would have been warm enough
