Haha - No judgement here; it was bloody freezing last night (literally). Plus. I've got 4 gal. of wine from my first crop of grapes fermenting in the space with the pellet stove. Have to keep that room at least at 75 to keep ferment up to temp. Great excuse to burn some pellets ;-)

This is way too early in the season, you should have ordered your ductless split heat pump for these mild conditions the stove is too expensive to run unless its really cold..

I got up at 3am and flipped the switch ON in the P61A, it was 38 out and almost 64 inside which is where my central heat is set. And I had been cold in my bed earlier in the night but went back off to sleep. At 3 I said frig it ! Hey it will just burn for 2 or 3 hours cycling on and off, suppose to be near 70 out later today.

You can buy a lot of pellets for the cost of the heat pump system and it won't take a lot of pellets to take the chill out for a few hours.

Holy smokes (no pun intended) I thought I was the only one to fire up stove last night. Got too cold, it was 28F here in S. Maine this morning. Earliest burn for me.. Oh well, bring it on!

Early for me too, would have had the oil heat going now in past years on a drop like this one cause I wouldn't light the coal stove up till Nov. But now with the Harman, just flip the switch let her go ! That's what I bought it for. Yay, happy happy !

no shame in burning early, ive been burning since 9/13 at night, temps as low as 34 here at night.

Last 2 mornings have been in the low 30's. 33 this morning. Jackman hit 18 yesterday and a couple ski areas were making snow! (Testing new equipment)
So....I have run the stove a few times this week. Enjoying the heat, flames and a cup of Dunkin D coffee!!

I had to scrape my windshield this morning!!

Yep, I have the glorious smell of warm pellets in my living room, kind of a nutty sweet smell.

I remember being up on the West Branch of the Penobscot one year in Sept in a tent. Woke up in the morning everything in sight was white with frost and steam coming off the river. Cool sight but burr ! Now I'm too old for that stuff, I get cold real easy these days.

I did the first burn with the new stove last night after I finished hookup. Was in the low 40s overnight house is a toasty 70 right now. Ran the stove at setting 3 of 9.

I've run mine the last couple nights in on/off mode (so we don't get cooked) since the nights have been mid 30's here. Only need to run it on heat range 1 or 2 out of 9 this time of year though.

Same here 60 in the house !! And I won't turn on the oil !!

Why not.this moring I had my winter hat for my dog walk .Here in Connecticut it's been a mild summer and sense it will be a cold winter.

I go as high as about 7 down to around 0 degrees. Below that I'll run it at 8 (in high/low mode) unless it's -10 degrees or colder then I may run it at 9. We really only have a handful of days that cold fortunately. It's like a blast furnace that high and obviously chews a lot of pellets, so it's pretty rare I ever use full capacity. Although occasionally on real cold days I will use it that high with the door to the garage open to help take some of the load off the electric heat out there.
