Have you heard about Greg's accident. If you go to this link there is a audio interview that will play automatically. He describes running the saw with one hand and holding the limb he was trimming with the other. He said he is not new to working with a chain saw. Just a reminder how we all can get careless and do something stupid.

I bet somewhere there are the ten commandments of running a saw, If not I think the guys here could come up with them.

#1 Two hands on the saw
#2.........

#2- never aim for your feet/ legs. (sounds obvious, but they sell chainsaw chaps and steel toe boots for a reason)

I've gotten complacent before and have had a couple close calls...

I think #1 should be: Your most important piece of safety equipment is between your ears.

There was a picture on one of the news stories of him posing with a top handle saw, cutting up something on the ground.

#2- never aim for your feet/ legs. (sounds obvious, but they sell chainsaw chaps and steel toe boots for a reason)

#3, if your a multi-million dollar golf pro, pay someone to trim your trees

#2 - safety equipment no matter how hot it is
#3 - sold footing
#4 - have an escape route for every cut.

Rule #1: Don't use a chainsaw if you think it has a blade . . . it's called a chainsaw for a reason . . . not blade saw.
Rule #2: Don't cut your own body parts . . . other folks' body parts are OK if you're in Texas or if you're facing down a zombie horde.
