Good Morning!

I go through around 5-6 tons a year of pellets. I usually try to purchase from Lowes as they deliver. I live in Bucks County, PA. This year it appears I have the following choices:
Greene Team
Clean Energy
Nature's Own
Cheat River
Presto Log

Has anyone burned these yet the Fall or have strong feelings about what would be my best choice? I hear that Clean Energy are re-bagged Hamers'? Its seems there are always so many opinions and I have to assume the pellets vary from batch to batch and year to year. I really appreciate your thoughts.

Had a great experience with green team last year .So this year I spent extra green team at lowes does not give a bulk discount and have 4 tons in the basement.

That's a shame they charged you more for the Greene Team. I know around here the price is the same as all the other pellets. I was just quoted $240/ton yesterday. I wonder if you can site that fact and get a refund?

GT's are always more as of a few seasons ago. They are their premium line. Don't confuse them with green supremes.

Out of those, i'd probably split the load between GTeams for cold days and Presto-logs for the shoulder

No confusion - I was quoted $240 per ton of Greene Team pellets from two separate Lowes yesterday. They consistently told me they only have one SKU for pellets but carry several brands.

You got lucky then! everywhere else there's 2 sku's these days, even on their website. Gt's are more than the generics

According to the bar code the clean energy are Hamer's.

Green Team pellets work great in my rabbit's cage.

My 1st pick would be Clean Energy pellet. Can't go wrong with a Hamer brand pellet. They always seem to burn nice & give off excellent heat. I have also used Hardwood Heat pellets. They are re-bagged Hamer's also. 2nd choice would be Greene Team's. Out of the other 3 brands you have listed, they are all a ashy leaving pellets. Cheat Rivers have up to 2" long pellets, which would bridge and or jam up my stove. Presto Logs are ashy and have very little heat. Natures own, are about the same.

Hey Neighbor,
Tullytown/Bristol area .
Home depot here has the Stove Chows 239.00 ton..[up 10 bucks from last season] Good Hot pellet/ Ashy but no clinkers.
My Dealer here sells Energex Premium Hardwoods 250.00 ton
Energex Goldens Premiums 270.00 ton... 0.5 ash.

I would pass on the Presto Logs.
they don't sell well at our Home depot..
Stove chows dissapear pretty quick..
I'm talking a 22 pallet truckload.

Each stove burns differently but my stove loves Greene Team, I use them except in the coldest weather, I have a ton of Okies for those days. I know a lot of people love the Prestologs, but in my stove they were horrible, that's why it's always best to try some in your stove to see what it likes.
