I burned a lot of pine last year, and another 4.5 cord ready for the start of this year.

I love how easy it is to process easy to split, lighter to carry, super fast seasoning. Fast burn times but I try and leave the splits larger so they last longer.

where i am there isn't much option other than various pines. Red Fir is desired. it all burns hot and is easy to process. I'd like to get some juniper...

A large portion of my trees are pine and are getting hit hard by beetles.
I won't scrounge pine but it still hits the stacks.
Pile in the picture is 90% from one standing dead pine.

I don't go looking for it but a friend drops it off in my driveway so it gets CSS. I was very glad to have it last year.

Pine is great. Although av never seen any look like that.

Great season to season wood. No silly seasoning times.

Dry that stuff for a year and you won't believe the difference in it instead of burning it too soon. Good wood.

Probably not pine in truth, but around here anything with needles gets called pine.

I'm no expert in the pine recognition, if it smels like pine, looks like pine, splits like pine and seasons in a year I'm all over it ==c

I also have quite a bit of sugar gum to pick up, that's about twice the btu,s but its also twice as heavy and I have to use the splitter.
