Probably made in the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan). They are allowed to import goods here labeled "Made in the USA".

I had my harman 52i installed last Columbus Day and had similar issues with the door gasket sticking and they had scratched it a little on install and even had a little smoke smell and I was thinking I made a big mistake selling my sante Fe insert which never gave me any problems.I was upset also. They came back and fixed everything and I could not be happier with this stove. It takes a little while to learn what settings to run it on and there are a few cleaning tricks to learn,
but this is an excellent stove and really throws the heat and is pretty easy on the pellet consumption . There is so many different ways to run this stove. Give it a chance, get them back to fix everything , the stove will pay for it self sooner then you think. After this winter you will be glad you bought it.Hang in there.
I think that mabe the dealer didn't take the time to prep that stove correctly for you both to have similar minor issues

Harman has done a great job of keeping their brand at the top. Essentially, that is HHT's job...protecting a well established brand for the profits of their mother company, HNI. They are a marketing engine to insure it's brands. Dane did a great job at engineering a product which was largely proprietary and worked very well on the consumer level. HHT isn't the best in my opinion at bringing products to market. Look at that Mt Vernon AE...nightmare. Accentra 52i, kind of a nightmare.
I too am curious about what sort of issues you have been seeing with the new 52i? I thought it would be pretty straight forward as all the electrical/mechanical parts are the same with the exception of the well tested P series dist. blowers.

Mee too?

How I see it, the 52i is rock solid heating machine. Like it was said in the previous post I think most issue are from poor installation.

Lena hasn't reported back to let us know how things are going yet but we still keep gabbing lol

For me, I'm going to be buying one tomorrow or Saturday so yes, I really do want to know if there are issues I should be aware of. I know there are many happy owners out there and I have a friend that liked it so much, he bought a second one but both models preceded the 52i

Had mine installed in June just used it a few cool mornings this year no problems yet. I think these minor issues that these guys had were due to poor preparation by either harman themselves or the dealer both are easy fixes but surely not welcome when receiving a brand new stove but after reading this youll know to check for dings and that gasket on the door before your installers leave Make them do a first burn with you and explain how and also show you how to maintenance the stove before they leave

If your concerned about getting one there are no issues with the stove recalls etc. many people own them on this site and it's rare to find a forum with a major problem on the accentra so buy in confidence.

Done. Put down the deposit for the 52i and install is Nov 1 if all goes well.
Make sure you stock up on pellets now I had six tons in a month before my stove was installed

Thanks. I really appreciate all the help that was offered, both on the forum threads and via PM's. The advice and information really helped me to sort everything out and settle on what I believe will be a very good stove for my situation. I'll definitely post some pics and give my first impressions as soon as that bad boy is munching on some pellets and as I gain more knowledge over time, I'll certainly return the favor and pass it on to others that ask for help.

If you bought in to the "Harman is the Cadillac of Stoves" therefore I should not have problems, look deeper into your metaphor....everything has problems. Personally I'd never buy a Cadillac as a luxury car.

I used to think Harman was the cat's meow. In a lot of ways I still do, but there are other options and some of them do have a better fit and finish but none of that means anything if the folks in charge of delivery are incompetent. Chips? Dings? Sticking gaskets? Gosh darn it...doesn't anyone inspect a stove and check it out prior to delivery? I do. That's how I justify charging list.

Since you've let the cat out of the bag (your statement above which I've asked for clarification on) and since you've ignored mine and others requests for your insight, I'm asking again and I put the words I'd like you to discuss further in bold italics.

Further questions:
1) if HHT is bad at bringing products to market... Who's good? I'm definitely missing something...
2) the shop/reseller/vendor is the dinger of product- period! And if they say they aren't at fault, they actually ARE and shame on them for not returning defective product to the manufacturer rather than dumping it on the consumer. You hire a shop as an expert, not an economic predator
3) if Harman's not your cats meow any longer, who is?

I'm pointing out these things as issues you point out but you don't finish your thought except to say from your seat you charge and are justified in charging list... I pay list for relationships not products.

What? Ha just kidding but I don't think he's going to answer.if there were issues with HHT or harman would have already been made aware on this site by now

Again what?

The patriot that would like a Japanese knockoff of an American product and can't answer questions about his calling a harman 52i some part of a nightmare... Clear, right. Thanks

Oh I was answering your first post with a joke sorry

Lol you too

I originally has a beautiful cast iron Jotul F-3... but the wife hated it and refused to use it. I work evenings so I would load the stove before going to work, she would come home to a warm 70 degree house - but I would come back home at 1:30am to a stove barely registering 170 degrees and barely an ember glowing enough to light a match from!

Even when last January / February were kicking butt outside, I would load the stove at 2:30pm - and come home 11 hours later to that same 70 degree house... reload the stove and go to bed - repeat!

Although I do miss fiddling around with a wood stove and having to put a little effort into it, there is just NO challenge to a 52i. Once you figure out how you like your stove set (plenty of advice on here for when that time comes, trust me), you will wonder why everyone doesn't have our type of stove!
