Quadrafire Mt Vernon - 2006

I am not sure what year they finally figured out the AE, mine is a 2009 I had a couple of problems but nothing major. Are you sure it is an AE or is it the regular Mt. Vernon? If it is the AE, if it has the new burn pot and ignitor as well as the latest board revisions, you should be good to go. If I may ask, what are they asking for it?

I would also add the new igniter harness. It includes a fuse on both legs of the igniter wiring.

When did that come out? I hadn't heard of that before. What prompted that change?

If you are asking about the igniter harness, I heard about it last year. There were a number of incidences where an igniter shorted to the frame and burned out a trace on the circuit board.
I think that can only happen if there is a problem with the AC wiring to the stove, thats the only scenario that makes sense to me.
I decided that for $30, it is a cheap insurance policy.
Installation is easy, I used the old wires to help snake the new wires into position. It passes behind the lower part of the fire box from the igniter terminations on the right to the control board on the left.

According to literature from Quadrafire the MVAE went into production Sept., 2006

"MTVERNON-AE-CSB, MTVERNON-AE-MBK, MTVERNON-AE-PMH, MTVERNON-AE-PBK, MTVERNON-PFT, MTVERNON-PDB
MTVERNON-AE-CWL (Sept 2006 thru June 2011)"

A look at the lable plate should tell you if it is AE or not.

2006 was the first year the AE came out. You need to do some investigating to see if the control board has been upgraded. You can also check the wall control to see if it has high altitude and low or normal setting for conv fan. And the fire pot as suggested. You can find the number on the white tag on the control board. They also came out with that wire harness as the fuse for the igniter is buried in the control board. Makes for an easier change if blown. kap
