I have a choice between electric baseboard and a pellet stove. The pellet stove is hands down better no debate. :p
me too... I feel your pain (electric baseboard heat-wise $$$)

Ok... let me take this back. I am not considering overseas imported stoves. Sorry for the omission. US/Canadia manufactured is my scope.
Of the USSC all the 6041 (any unit with a 60**) is US (union made). Most of the 5500 series as well (some are imported to keep up with production)

Didn't know that... Thought all of their products were made in China. Thanks for the info

Good question, I'm on the lookout for a basement stove for my work shop down there and ran into Blaze King ( actually I think it just said King on it with a crown emblem ?). It looked pretty decent till I looked at the burn pot, thought that to be flimsy looking compared with Pleasant Hearth, Englander and of course my Harman that I have upstairs. Unless I run into a barn stormer of a Craigs list deal or otherwise a decent used P43 Harman I won't be buying another Harman for the basement so I'm looking at the less expensive options too..

I've been really happy with the Englander PAH I've been using the past few years. Since I just picked up a newer EP model, I'm moving my PAH to the basement. In my opinion it will be a perfect basement stove because it has a big blower (250cfm), huge hopper (120lbs), versatile t-stat options, and is a very reliable workhorse. Not the fanciest looking thing, but definitely gets the job done and I picked mine up from AM/FM for only $999!
