Anyone have "Summer Choke Down" - ash plugged venting or exhaust blower?

Hello

Here is a good case where the ash precipitates out of the venting side walls during the summer and stops the exhaust blower from turning and the stove from running!

Wow! Just wow

I take it a spring clean was not performed.

I do my full tear down and clean in the spring just after my last burn.

Not here. Like most, I do my thorough cleaning after the last burn in spring. Then, minimal effort required to fire it up in the fall. Add pellets, remove vent plugs, plug stove in - and heat!

I have the extra step of removing the bucket of damp rid from the combustion chamber.

Even after a spring cleaning, it is possible that the high humidity during summer will make more ash fall off the vent walls. Even with a power driven brush, I am sure that not all the ash is being brushed from the vent walls.
I think I'm going to be doing both spring and fall cleaning in the future.

More Summer Choke Down venting!

Pipe is totally blocked! This is straight out then up 3 feet.

I have not seen this so much with inside up & out runs.
