I just bought 3 tons of Okanagan Golds from East Coast Lumber in Hampstead,NH. I paid $299/ton plus $39 for delivery. They wouldn't sell me 4 tons because of the limited supply so I bought a ton of Maine Woods from Dodge Grain is Salem, NH. $260/ton but I picked up. I have a question and a few comments. First, I like Maine Woods a lot. Would have got 4 tons from Dodge Grain but they charge $30/ton to deliver 1/2 mile down the street to my house. Didn't want to pay $120 for a 1/2 mile delivery. So is that fee outrageous or is it just me being cheap?

My other question is....Has anyone tried the Okanagan Golds. How are they? Did I pay a fair price? Ok 3 questions....
Thanks...

std delivery here is 50 for the first, +10 for every additional ton. I don't disagree that being next door it's a little steep.

oakie golds are pretty good. 299 is standard price these days, maybe even a little on the cheap side.

just did my order with pelletsrus, out of Acton, MA. $39 for flat, basic delivery. Got some lacretes for $366/1.2 tons(60bags), which works out to about $305/ton(50bags). 1st time burner, but i've heard good things about okies...

299 for the golds seems to rate in this area as well. They were a bit cheaper back in the spring.

Agreed on the price, $300 is the going rate for golds around here too. I will be burning golds and MWPs for the first time this season and will post back thoughts when I start using the stove.

Yes $30 per ton delivery for 1/2 mile down the road is both excessive and inflexible. To give you an idea, my buddy and I had 7 tons total delivered to our houses. One trip for the delivery man - 25 miles drive one way and they split the $60 delivery fee between us. Now that's customer service.

I paid $289 per ton and $35 for delivery. I'm burning some left over Turmans and will break into the Golds by November. My initial impression is... They have less fines in the bags than Turmans... I don't really see any fines!

Ive never used Golds but if Platinums are any indication, you will enjoy them.
