I have a 8 yo Big E that is cutting off after 10 sec. I cleaned it top to bit tow in and out. Jumped the air switch and it ran a while the I shut it down. Manual says 5V after 30 sec. but only ran for 10. Can I check the V while it's jumped? Figures the day it drops to 30 it takes a dump:( I appreciate the help. Don't want to waste and $ buying a simple fix. Forgot the #2 light was flashing!

Sounds like the air switch, even though the book says they rarely fail. My brother had the same problem last year

You can check the switch with a meter to see if it has failed. It also can be an air leak. Door gasket, pipes, dirty stove all can give an ERR 2 shutdown. The hose from the switch to the side of the firebox can be clogged or split as well.

If you jump it you are just bypassing the switch. It could very well be a bad switch or it might actual be detecting a pressure leak.
