I was hoping for some help on an issue with my Harman Accentra 52i. I bought it new last year and used it with out an issue all last season. I went to fire it up the other night and it was having trouble lighting and once it finally lit, it didn't seem to feed enough pellets to keep it going. Now it won't light (igniter light does not come on) and the auger does not turn if I put it on test mode. I have to unplug it to shut off the combustion fan, it keeps running otherwise in off mode after a failed attempt to start. It has been thoroughly cleaned. Any ideas or suggestions? I called for service but it won't be for awhile.

Maybe the computer board is going bad. Any blinking status lights?

My 52i seems like it takes forever for the combustion fan to shut off, when I shut the stove down.

I was getting 5 blinking lights first, now it doesn't seem to do that. It doesn't seem to do any thing at the moment other than turn the combustion fan on. I know in the past it took awhile for it ti shut down but that i believe was because the burn pot was still warm. It keeps blowing even when it is cold. I am thinking it is the board but want to see if it was something I had done wrong first?

If you have unplugged...it should reset itself.

Did you clean the igniter good?

Will it run in manual mode?

the newer harmans leave the combustion blower on until they sense that vacuum has been established. whether it is put into test mode or just turned on then off the combustion blower will try to run until the control board sees that vacuum has been established. Most likely not enough air is able to either enter or to exit the stove or the vacuum switch is bad or something along those line is the probable cause.

if the vacuum switch is either not getting vacuum or is broken either way that will also keep your igniter and auger motor from turning on.

Igniter is clean and it does not run in manual mode.
As the others have said, you have a vacuum problem that you need to track down. Double check the door gasket and latch. Have you had the stove "out" since you burned it last? When you say thoroughly cleaned, what do you mean? I'm not an expert at the 52i's yet. I'm trying to help someone with this exact same problem in another thread with a P61A so you may want to follow that thread too. Is there a hopper switch on the 52i?

I had it out for the cleaning and then pulled it out to look for any issues? I looked at the door gasket and it looks ok, seems a little more worn on the lower hinge side? Can you suggest other areas to check?

Did you take the cover off the fines compartment? Double check to make sure that the cover is installed and secured with wing nut. While you have it out check the air intake.

Hard to believe you could have a door gasket issue since the stove is only a year old. Do you know how to do the dollar bill test?

I did have the fines compartment open for the cleaning. I will pull it out and make sure it is on snug.

its got a tab on the top that has to insert into the cover....

I confirm similar experience with combustion fan shut down

Ok folks the addl blower on the 52i makes it virtually impossible to remove and clean the fines cover/box. I reviewed the configuration challenge with my tech when he did the annual cleaning etc. To get the cover off the fines box you'll have a lot of fan and other equipment to remove. When my tech was at Harman for training this year on the 52i, they mentioned the fan redesign didn't change the fine box config and access and they can't open and clean the fine box.

Ilford,
Were you able to open and clean the fine box? How did you accomplish? Thanks in advance

There should be room to remove the cover straight back on the 52i.... if I remember right. On the old 52 it was in the side and really easy to get to.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot in a month or so. Greatly appreciated!
